Shirley Ryan Ability Lab, Chicago IL
2018
The Shirley Ryan AbilityLab (formerly Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago) is a premiere rehabilitation destination for adults and children with the most severe, complex conditions — from traumatic brain and spinal cord injury to stroke, amputation and cancer. Gensler, in partnership with HDR, and in association with Clive Wilkinson Architects and EGG Office, designed the 27-story, 1.2-million-square-foot facility as the first-ever “translational” research hospital in which clinicians, scientists, innovators, and technologists work together in the same space – surrounding patients, discovering new approaches and applying (or “translating”) research real time. This translational approach means patients have 24/7 access to the brightest minds, the latest research, and the best opportunity for recovery.

The triangular buildings of the NVIDIA campus help make it one of the most-recognizable headquarters in Silicon Valley.

At its inception in the summer of 2004, MGM’s CityCenter would be the most ambitious, and ultimately the most expensive privately-funded development project in US history, requiring 30,000 signs throughout the 66 -cre, 19-million square foot project. I led this massive signage and wayfinding effort from strategy to completion as the Executive Graphic Design Director for Gensler, Executive Architect of the project.

World Oil
2016
Through a series of strategic acquisitions of related businesses, World Oil has steadily grown into one of California’s largest privately-held companies. Today, this 75-yr old business is a highly diversified corporation that produces petroleum-based and recycled products and provides vital transport, environmental and recycling services. However, there were challenges to operating as (5) independent businesses and brands. We helped them realize their vision – a unified organization with a strong leverageable (master) brand. Once organized under the World Oil master brand, a new identity system was designed to help support and tell the broader World Oil story. The brand relaunch included packaging, facility signage and a redesign of the company’s largest and most visible billboards – their tanker and vehicle fleets.
WALT DISNEY IMAGINEERING, TOKYO DISNEYLAND HOTEL
